Blueprint CAD is a fully Canadain mechanical CAD consultancy that provides mechanical CAD design in Ontario focused on manufacturable and shop ready deliverables. 

We work with CNC shops, prototype firms, maintenance teams, and small manufacturers who are looking for designs that are ready for real world fabrication, not just pretty marketing models. Our work is driven by practical experience in mechanical design, additive manufacturing, and CNC-based production with an emphasis on designs that make sense on the shop floor.

Practical Design for Manufacturing

Our approach is rooted in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) with an understanding of how parts are actually made and their end use. We design with tooling access, tolerances, materials, and production constraints in mind, helping reduce time and cost associated with the back and forth between design and fabrication.

We regularly support:

  • Conversion of 2D drawings or sketches into fully defined 3D CAD

  • Cleanup and rework of poor or incomplete legacy models

  • Reverse engineering of broken or worn components

  • Fixture, jig, and assembly support design

  • Prototype and low-volume production design support
